THE ROLLING STONES - STEEL WHEELS

Revisit late-1980s arena rock history with the original Australian vinyl pressing of The Rolling Stones' comeback studio album, Steel Wheels. Released via Rolling Stones Records and distributed domestically by CBS Records Australia Limited, this edition marked the end of the public "World War III" hiatus between Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Co-produced by Chris Kimsey and The Glimmer Twins, the 12-track collection blends blues-rock architecture with contemporary production, anchored by singles like "Mixed Emotions" and "Rock and a Hard Place". The packaging includes the industrial-geometric cover design by John Warwicker and the distinct tongue-and-lips logo variant customized for the late-80s era. This Australian manufacturing run represents a localized window into the band's global return to collective recording and their multi-decade distribution tenure under the CBS corporate umbrella.

1989 Australian import/release by Rolling Stones Records, catalog #465752 1, barcode #9399746575219.  First pressing on black vinyl.

Sleeve grades VG+.  No real deficiencies, just some light corner dings.  Original custom inner sleeve included.

Vinyl grades VG.  Mostly plays VG+ but there's a touch of crackle in a few spots, mostly toward the end of the B side.  Very clean vinyl with just a handful of light surface marks and hairlines.
