LEWSBERG - LEWSBERG

Revisit one of modern European underground rock’s finest introductions with the 2019 Dutch repress of Lewsberg’s self-titled debut album. Originally self-released in 2018 under their independent label imprint, the band pressed this secondary run under the updated catalog suffix lb03(2019) to meet immediate international demand following critical acclaim across the UK and European indie scenes. Hailing from the gritty port city of Rotterdam, the four-piece delivers a highly distinct brand of deadpan, minimalist post-punk. The 9-track layout leans heavily into steady, un-embellished Velvet Underground-style chugs, Television-esque interlocking guitar lines, and Arie van Vliet’s dry, spoken-word English delivery. Highlighted by fan-favorites like "Terrible" and the sweeping "Non-Fiction Writer", this reissue features unique voiceover inserts capturing the poetry of Rotterdam writer C.B. Vaandrager. Housed in its original glossy full-color sleeve with an accompanying printed insert, this Dutch manufacturing run is a perfect time capsule of independent, DIY stoicism.

2019 Dutch (Netherlands) import self-released by Lewsberg, catalog # lb03(2019), barcode #3481575119286.  Repress of original lb03 release from 13th April 2018.  "Recorded at Schenk Studio during the summer of 2017, one or two overdubs at our rehearsal space in Delfshaven."  Signed by the band:  Dico Kruijsse, Arie van Vliet, Shalita Dietrich and Michiel Klein.

Sleeve grades VG+.  Overall excellent almost "like new" condition, not a crease but small fold/push in upper right corner, a couple tiny creases along edge.  Original insert and inner sleeve included.  Signatures in excellent, clear condition.

Vinyl grades VG+.  Very close to NM, just two light marks/hairlines under magnification.  Plays through with no issues.
