Soulful major-label debut of Ayron Jones from 2021, pressed in a limited edition run of just 500 copies on Silver Swirl vinyl.  Child Of The State is a deeply autobiographical work, referencing Jones' upbringing in foster care at a young age and blending a gritty legacy of Seattle grunge with elements of hard rock, blues, soul and hip-hop.  Songs like "Mercy", written in the wake of the George Floyd protests, reflect the racial tension and exhaustion felt across America, and "Spinning Circles" delves into the cycles of unhealthy relationships and addiction.  "Mercy" reached #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, "Supercharged" reached #2 and "Take Me Away" reached the top 5 as the album's debut single, explicitly addressing Jones' parental abandonment.  The album has been praised critically for its raw intensity and genre-blending sounds.
