Originally recorded in 1984 and issued on Homestead before being brought under the Touch and Go banner, the Racer-X 12" EP represents Steve Albini's brutal, drum-machine-driven noise-rock blueprint at its most unrelenting. Featuring the metallic, razor-sharp guitar assault of John Haggerty alongside Albini's biting vocal satire on tracks like "The Jet-Set Trash", "Racer-X", and "Shotgun", the EP bridges the gap between Chicago's early post-punk underground and the ferocious noise-rock revolution that followed.
