Originally issued in late 1976 on Private Stock before being picked up by Chrysalis, Blondie’s self-titled debut is a vital, infectious blend of 1960s girl-group pop hooks, surf rock, and raw CBGB new wave swagger. Packed with early punk anthems like "X Offender," "Rip Her to Shreds," and the dream-pop precursor "In the Flesh," the album introduced the world to Debbie Harry's magnetic star power and the band's razor-sharp songwriting. Released by Pickwick Records under license from Chrysalis as a budget reissue in 1982, this UK pressing offered fans an accessible entryway to the quintessential origin story of one of new wave's biggest acts.
