Fantastic copy of original 1978 UK 12" for lead single off Plastic Letters

BLONDIE - DENIS

Capture the dazzling, sun-drenched dawn of the global new wave revolution with this spectacular vintage 1978 UK 12" maxi-single pressing of Denis by Blondie. Serving as the legendary New York band's massive breakthrough international hit, this pristine three-track 12" release is an absolute masterclass in pop-rock perfection and dance-floor power. The wide, high-velocity 45 RPM analog grooves deliver incredible sonic separation, perfectly spotlighting Debbie Harry’s effortlessly cool, bilingual French vocal performance over the band's driving rock hooks. Complete with both of its essential B-side companion tracks—the jagged, spy-fi synths of "Contact In Red Square" and the raw, high-energy garage punk of "Kung Fu Girls"—this maxi-single brings the raw club energy of the 1978 London and NYC underground straight to your turntable. Housed in its iconic, high-fashion portrait jacket, this beautifully preserved UK artifact is a non-negotiable cornerstone for any serious alternative pop archivist or vinyl collector.

1978 UK import/release by Chrysalis, catalog # CHS 2204 12.  Original red sleeve first pressing of this 12" single featuring Denis, Contact in Red Square and Kung Fu Girls.

Sleeve grades VG.  At first glance it's a VG+ sleeve, it's in great shape.  But there's a water stain along the bottom and the slightest of warping of the bottom of the sleeve where it dried, causing the downgrade.  From afar, the cover remains visually striking.  Otherwise the seams/spine are intact and the color/finish/gloss are excellent and the original inner sleeve is included.

Vinyl grades VG+.  Plays through with no issues or deficiencies, crisp and clear.  Pretty close to a NM disc which is very rare for vinyl this old.   Side A looks to have one surface mark and Side B looks clean.  This copy will play excellent for years to come.
