BLUE OYSTER CULT - BLUE OYSTER CULT

Step into the occult-rock underground with the self-titled 1972 debut from Blue Öyster Cult, the album that launched a legacy of heavy metal mystery and cerebral hard rock. This record is a masterclass in dark, riff-driven storytelling, blending the gritty energy of New York City’s club scene with a haunting, psychedelic edge. From the driving, adrenaline-fueled "Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll" to the eerie, intricate melodies of "Then Came the Last Days of May," the album captures a band operating in a league of their own. Featuring the legendary "black and white" aesthetic and the debut of the iconic Cronos symbol, this pressing is an essential cornerstone for any serious rock collection. Own the record that proved heavy music could be both punishingly loud and brilliantly sophisticated—a timeless trip into the strange and sublime.

1972 US release by Columbia, catalog # C 31063.  First pressing from Terre Haute plant.

Sleeve grades VG+.  Overall in great shape with some signs of wear from its age, primarily a little color fade to the finish and a bit of edgewear most noticably along the opening in the upper right front.  Just a touch of ringwear. Original inner sleeve included.

Vinyl play grades VG+.  No issues or deficiencies during play testing.  Very clean vinyl as well.
