Rocket into the second decade of Cleveland's premier indie-punk outfit with the 2021 US vinyl pressing of Cloud Nothings' seventh studio album, The Shadow I Remember. Released via long-time partner Carpark Records, this captivating retail variant is pressed on a custom multi-colored "Spectral Light Whirl" vinyl compound. To document their collective maturity, songwriter Dylan Baldi and drummer Jayson Gerycz reunited with legendary engineer Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago—the very space where they captured their 2012 breakout masterpiece, Attack on Memory. The resulting 11-track collection strikes a perfect equilibrium, marrying the band's signature raw, pummeling volume-driven assault with an unapologetic pop-minded focus. Highlighted by the soaring hooks of "Nothing Without You" (featuring guest vocals from Ohmme's Macie Stewart) and the existential driving urgency of "Oslo", this initial manufacturing run is housed in a clean, minimalist jacket designed by Rob Carmichael. It stands as an essential, high-velocity monument to the band's continued sonic evolution.
