DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS - THE DIRTY SOUTH

Experience the definitive Southern Rock opera with the 2007 pressing of Drive-By Truckers’ The Dirty South. This isn't just an album; it's a gritty, cinematic journey through the myths and realities of the American South, delivered with the raw power of a three-guitar attack. Featuring the legendary songwriting trinity of Patterson Hood, Mike Cooley, and a young Jason Isbell, this record balances high-octane stadium riffs with heartbreakingly intimate storytelling. From the outlaw intensity of "Where the Devil Don't Stay" to the soul-crushing beauty of "Goddamn Lonely Love," every track is etched with the sweat and red clay of the band’s Muscle Shoals roots. For the collector who demands authenticity, this Nashville-pressed vinyl captures the warm, uncompressed growl of vintage amplifiers and the nuanced rasp of three of the best voices in rock. It is a sprawling, high-fidelity masterpiece that remains the crowning achievement of the DBT catalog.

2007 US release by New West Records, catalog # NW5007, barcode #607396500727.  Second US pressing, this time on double vinyl (2xLP) in gatefold cover.  Pressed on heavyweight 180g audiophile black vinyl.

Sleeve grades VG+.  In almost "like new" condition, just a couple minor dings.

Vinyl grades VG.  Plays through VG+ or better based on play testing - no issues or deficiencies.  Visually there are a couple discoloration spots on sides 3 & 4 (see left side of pictures) in addition to the normal light surface marks/hairlines -- they don't impact playback, but are material enough to downgrade to VG.
