Experience the defiant, high-energy counterpoint to the weight of the modern world with Drive-By Truckers’ 2020 surprise release, The New OK. Born out of the same prolific sessions as The Unraveling but infused with a raw, "post-punk" urgency, this album captures a band pivoting from heavy contemplation to a gritty, rock-and-roll resistance. From the title track’s frantic pace to a searing cover of The Ramones’ "The KKK Took My Baby Away," the record is a masterclass in southern-rock grit meets urban anxiety. It is a bold, essential document of a band refusing to stay quiet, delivering their signature storytelling with a renewed sense of volume and velocity.
