FOALS - WHAT WENT DOWN
Experience the raw, visceral peak of mid-2010s British indie rock with the original 2015 vinyl release of Foals’ fourth studio album, What Went Down. Jointly issued by Transgressive Records and Warner Bros. Records, this edition captures the Oxford quintet at their most sonically aggressive and expansive. Produced by James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco and mixed by veteran engineer Alan Moulder, the 10-track record balances the crushing, stadium-level weight of the title track and "Snake Oil" against the nuanced, driving textures of "Mountain At My Gates" and "A Knife In The Ocean". Recorded on-site at the historic La Fabrique Studios in the south of France, the audio layout for this pressing was cut to lacquer at Metropolis Studios in London. Housed in a heavy gatefold jacket displaying a stark, tinted landscape layout, this initial release stands as a vital document of the group's evolution into one of the UK's premier modern rock acts.
