Gaye Bykers On Acid - Everythangs Groovy

Gaye Bykers On Acid ("GBOA") formed in 1984 in Leicester, UK and were regarded as part of the "grebo" movement whose bands distinguished themselves by their ragged and greasy looks.  Most grebo bands mixed different musical styles with samples and loops and GBOA was no different.  The "Everythangs Groovy" single represents their first officially released/published single and is a mixture of primarily Punk and Psych Rock.  While the band experimented on different releases with other sounds including dance grooves, electronic and metal sounds, they always retained their punk ethos.  GBOA also used various pseudonyms... They pretended to be a thrash metal band from East Germany calling themselves 'Rektum' (releasing the album "Sakredanus"), sometimes used the tag 'PFX (Purple Fluid Exchange)', mostly for dance-oriented releases, and they further created 'Lesbian Dopeheads On Mopeds' as a support act to GBOA to cash in twice per gig....

The subject disc is the 12" first pressing of GBOA's first officially released single in 1986, predating their first album "Drill Your Own Hole" published in 1987.   The subject single was released by the "In Tape" label as catalog # ITTI040 or ITTI 040.  It contains 3 tracks:  (A1) Everythangs Groovy, (A2) TV Cabbage and (B1) Space Rape (Extended Mix).   The release is "dedicated to Ted Moult (out with a Bang!)".

The sleeve is one of the nicest I've seen on a 40 year old disc.  The front and back cover are bright and clean and retain their original gloss.  Corners are sharp and colors are vivid.  Almost no edgewear is present, seams are intact and strong and the spine is in excellent condition.  There is some sticker residue present (and minor damage to the cover finish presumably from an attempt to remove the residue) in the upper right quadrant of the front and a few minor dings around the cover.  There is very minor ring wear in the "12 o'clock" to "3 o'clock" area of the front and along the top of the back cover.  Overall this sleeve grades as Strong VG+ condition.

The vinyl is very clean visually with a nearly perfect appearance to the naked eye and I see some minor surface marks/hairlines on both sides under direct bright light, these do not impact playback.  Labels are in pristine condition.  The disc play tests very well with no deficiencies/issues whatsoever.  The vinyl play grades to Strong VG+ or better condition.
