LEGION OF DOOM - THE BEAT OF THE DRUM
Step directly onto the raw, concrete foundations of 1980s street culture with this incredibly rare vintage 12" single pressing of The Beat of the Drum by Legion of Doom. Serving as a highly collectable, underground 1986 Holy Grail released via Toe Jam Records, this phenomenal electro-hip-hop classic is an absolute masterclass in heavy, old-school analog production. Sourced directly from the legendary boards of New York's Power Play Studios, the wide, high-velocity 33 ⅓ RPM grooves deliver an uncompressed, arena-shaking sonic punch—blasting a heavy, rhythmic wall of electronic 808-style drum patterns and snotty, classic cadence. Teeming with the production wizardry of George Kerr and Samm Culley, every groove bounces out of your sound system with pristine vintage mid-range snap and true block-party adrenaline. Complete with its scarce, vintage independent typography center labels, this beautifully preserved 12" vinyl is an absolute, non-negotiable trophy piece for any serious hip-hop historian, early electro archivist, or vintage vinyl collector.
