Debut studio album by Athens, Georgia, US based band Mothers, led by songwriter and visual artist Kristine Leschper.  Originally conceived as a solo folk project, the album evolved into a complex full-band recording that became a standout of the mid-2010s "art-folk" and math-rock scenes.  The album is a raw, unflinching exploration of self-doubt, body image and the struggle to feel enough.  Leschper's lyrics are highly poetic and often deal with the physical sensation of emotional pain.  This "critic's choice" album should appeal to fans of Big Thief, Angel Olsen and/or Mitski.
