Super Rare Dylan Picture Disc - #10 of only 20 pressed!
BOB DYLAN w/ G.E. SMITH, KENNY AARONSON, CHRISTOPHER PARKER - GOING UP THE CASTLE STAIRS
Recorded live on May 27, 1989, at Christinehof Slott in Sweden, Going Up The Castle Stairs (Matrix: AS-18) documents the fiery opening night of Bob Dylan’s 1989 European Tour. Backed by G.E. Smith on lead guitar, Dylan delivers a soundboard/audience set blending acoustic favorites and electrified classics. Released in Germany as an extremely limited 12" picture disc—including hyper-scarce numbered variants—this pressing pairs iconic concert imagery with raw performances of "Subterranean Homesick Blues," "Gates Of Eden," and "Silvio," making it a sought-after trophy piece for Dylan bootleg archivists and vinyl display collections.
1989 German import/release, catalog # AS-18, on 12" picture disc. Matrices: AS-18-A / AS-18-B. Recorded live at Christinehof Slott (Castle) in Andarum, Sweden on 27th May 1989.
Comes with green colored outer sleeve with front circle cut out, original one-sided circular insert in excellent condition containing artist info, track list and location/date, and sticker indicating "SPECIAL EDITION PICTURE DISC / 20 COPIES, COPY NO. 10".
Disc is visually clean on both sides with no issues, maybe 2-3 hairlines visible under magnification and direct light on side A and a tiny surface mark on Side B, none of which have any impact on playback. Side A plays VG+, clean with no issues. Side B plays mostly VG+ but has a couple crackles and a few pops. Plays very well for a picture disc!
