THE ROLLING STONES - ROCK 'N' ROLLING STONES
Dive into a high-octane tribute to the band's rhythm-and-blues origins with the original 1972 United Kingdom vinyl release of Rock 'n' Rolling Stones. Issued by Decca Records following the conclusion of their formal partnership with the group, this specialized compilation emphasizes the band’s deep affinity for American rock pioneers, assembling a tracklist that includes five classic Chuck Berry covers alongside Berry-inspired arrangements like "Route 66" and "Down the Road Apiece". The album spans the group's foundational studio years, including their debut single "Come On," while also tracking their evolution via live renditions of "Little Queenie" and "Carol" featuring Mick Taylor. Packaged in a front-laminated jacket printed by the Upton Printing Group, the record features the iconic 1970s blue-and-silver boxed Decca labels. This initial British pressing serves as a historical document of the band's catalog transition, capturing the raw, blues-inflected energy that forged their early global reputation.
1972 UK import/release by Decca, catalog # SKL 5149. First pressing of compilation on black vinyl in stereo.
Sleeve grades VG. Excellent finish/color/gloss. Light ringwear on front and back. Front laminate intact. Medium seam burst on middle top seam (about 1.5 inches or 4 cm). Otherwise no material edgewear; spine and bottom seam intact. Looks like a small cut in upper left front corner. Original inner sleeve included.
Vinyl grades VG. Mostly plays VG+ but maybe a touch of crackle during play testing, definitely behind music. Very clean vinyl under magnification, looks close to NM physically.
