THE ROLLING STONES - HOT ROCKS 1964-1971 THE GREATEST HITS
Revisit the golden era of rock 'n' roll with this 1986 European reissue of The Rolling Stones’ defining compilation, Hot Rocks 1964–1971. Pressed in the Netherlands on audiophile-grade virgin vinyl, this specific release features London Records’ stark, elegant black center labels—a premium hallmark of mid-80s European manufacturing. Sourced from early digital remasters of the original master recordings, the double-LP set delivers breathtaking clarity and punch to the rhythm section on foundational anthems like "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction," "Paint It Black," and "Gimme Shelter." Complete with its iconic nested-silhouette gatefold artwork, this Dutch pressing offers a distinctly quiet, premium noise floor that elevates Allen Klein’s legendary ABKCO-era catalog to true archival status. It remains a cornerstone piece for collectors seeking the perfect intersection of peak 1960s grit and refined 1980s European vinyl craftsmanship.
1986 Dutch (Netherlands) import/release by London Records, catalog #820 142-1, barcode #4228201401. Double album (2xLP) with the black London labels.
Sleeve grades borderline VG. Color/finish/gloss is very good and original hype sticker remains in upper right front. There is some edgewear, primarily along the opening side and numerous small horizontal creases along the spine on the front. There is a small seam burst on the bottom back of the gatefold. Inner gatefold is excellent. No original inner sleeves or inserts.
Vinyl grades G+/VG. The disc surfaces look fairly worn with a good amount of light scratches, surface marks and hairlines, many visible with the naked eye. It plays better than it looks. There are no skips but there is persistent crackle/surface noise, mostly worst at the beginning of each side and then gets better throughout each side but doesn't go completely away. Mainly stays behind music but especially at the beginnings can be beside music. Would generally call this VG-.
