Explore a unique pocket of British rock history with the initial United Kingdom release of The Rolling Stones’ Milestones. Assembled and issued by Decca Records following the termination of the band's 1960s contract, this compilation emerged without direct artistic input from the group itself. The tracklist forms an eclectic, club-style retrospective, interweaving ubiquitous chart-toppers like "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" and "Get Off Of My Cloud" with deeper Decca-era cuts, including their early cover of the Beatles' "I Wanna Be Your Man," the psychedelic pop of "Yesterday's Papers," and the gritty blues of "Stray Cat Blues". Packaged in a front-laminated jacket featuring a close-up live shot of Mick Jagger, the album’s back cover displays the original band members in a four-box grid layout. This initial UK pressing stands as a direct document of the complex corporate landscape governing the band's foundational British discography.

1971 UK import/release by Decca, catalog # SKL 5098.  First pressing in stereo.

Sleeve grades VG.  Overall in really good condition but not quite VG+.  Front shows light ringwear and some small horizontal creases along the spine.  Spines and seams are intact.  Medium amount of edgewear.  Back shows primarily ringwear at the top and bottom; there are two pen marks at the top but they're on a black background so are only visible from an angle.

Vinyl grades VG.  Plays tests mostly VG+ but there's a touch of crackle in a few spots and three (3) minor clicks/pops at the intro to "Out of Time".  Vinyl surface is pretty clean but there are a handful of light surface marks and hairlines and about two (2) small light scratches that don't seem to materially impact playback.
