THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND - IDLEWILD SOUTH

Experience the definitive genesis of Southern Rock with the timeless 1970 masterpiece Idlewild South by The Allman Brothers Band. Produced by the legendary Tom Dowd, this phenomenal sophomore album captures a virtuoso six-piece lineup at the absolute peak of their creative, collaborative powers. Effortlessly balancing raw, electric blues with delicate acoustic songwriting, the record features Duane Allman’s soaring, unparalleled slide guitar and Gregg Allman's gritty, soulful vocals. Home to foundational rock anthems like the original studio version of "Midnight Rider" and Dickey Betts' legendary, sprawling jazz-rock instrumental "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed," Idlewild South is a flawless masterclass in musical spontaneity and dual-guitar harmony. An absolute cornerstone and essential piece of analog history, this vintage LP belongs in the collection of every serious classic rock, blues, and vinyl enthusiast.
