ULTRA RARE Undertones Positive Touch Red Lbl Test Press UK c.1980-81
THE UNDERTONES - POSITIVE TOUCH
Ultra Rare UK Test Pressing, 1U/1U stampers, George Peckham (Porky Prime Cut) mastered.
An ultra-rare pre-release UK test pressing of The Undertones' third studio album, Positive Touch! Pressed by EMI/Ardeck ahead of the official May 1981 release, this copy features distinctive red factory/test pressing labels and earliest-possible -1U/-1U matrix stampers pulled straight from the initial lacquer cut. Mastered by renowned UK cutting engineer George Peckham, the runout grooves feature his signature "A PORKY PRIME CUT" etchings alongside the side B message, "THE LITTLE BOYS GROW UP." A major artifact for UK punk, power pop, and Undertones completionists.
Undated (before Spring 1981 album release) UK import / red-label test pressing, catalog number ARD-103. Plain red labels with "The Undertones A" handwritten on side A, nothing on Side B. Runouts read: ARD 103 A-1U C A PORKY PRIME CUT. 1 // ARD 103 B-1U C THE LITTLE BOYS GROW UP. 1 A PORKY PRIME CUT. Mastered by George Peckham.
Outer sleeve is generic white cardboard in excellent condition.
Vinyl grades VG+. Play tests with no issues. Vinyl surface is super clean with just a few wispy hairlines under magnification.
