Big Black - Lungs 1992 Euro 12" EP w Insert VG+/VG+ (Steve Albini)
BIG BLACK - LUNGS
1992 European import of Steve Albini's self-made 1982 12" EP with insert!
Originally self-released by Steve Albini in 1982 on a run of just 1,500 copies before being picked up by Ruthless and eventually Touch and Go, Lungs is the primal, abrasive birth certificate of Big Black. Recorded entirely by Albini playing guitar, bass, and singing alongside his unrelenting Roland TR-606 drum machine (credited as "Roland"), the 6-track 12" EP delivers a vicious, industrial-tinged post-punk assault featuring foundational noise-rock tracks like "Steelworker" and "Live in a Hole." This 1992 European Touch and Go / Southern Studios reissue brought the ultra-rare debut back into circulation with upgraded audio pressing quality, capturing the genesis of Albini's signature metallic sound.
1992 European import/release by Touch And Go, catalog # TG89, barcode #718751788916. Reissue of 12" EP; made in France.
