Chicago - Chicago (also released as Chicago II)

1970 early US reissue of the original 1970 double album.  Columbia Records, catalog KGP 24.  Pressed at Terre Haute pressing plant and released in gatefold cover.  This has the red and orange "6 Columbias" labels.  This version is titled just "Chicago" as it was their first release after switching names from Chicago Transit Authority, but the album became known as "II" because it was their second album and sometimes it was also released/titled Chicago II.  This label variant has "stereo" on the right side of the spindle holes.

Discs have been ultrasonically and hand cleaned.

The sleeve is rated VG.  The overall sleeve is in great condition but there is visible ringwear front and back and some fading of color, corners have softened a bit.  There's a small seam split in the middle of the inside gatefold and a tiny "hole" along the top seam, but nothing that really qualifies as a seam split making the sleeve fall apart along the spine or top/bottom spines of the front or back gatefold.  A bit of edgewear but not too bad; again see pictures please.  Unfortunately the poster insert has been lost to time.  Generic inner sleeves are included and the discs will ship in audiophile sleeves.

The vinyl is also rated VG.  It's playing mostly VG+ for me but I'm getting a little crackle/static at some spots, which downgrades it to VG rating.  The vinyl appears pretty clean but definitely has surface marks and hairlines under direct bright light.  The labels are in excellent condition.

Overall a very good quality representation of this classic album by the jazzy rock band Chicago!
