Absolutely stunning release of David Bowie's "David Live" album by Ryko Analogue in 1990. This is a limited, numbered edition that comes with an obi strip and was printed on clear vinyl. This particular album is #1,591 as seen in the above pictures. Supposedly 5,000 copies of this album were printed, but that number is unconfirmed. It is said that the vinyl didn't sell very well in the early 1990s so it seems unlikely they would have pressed more.
This expanded version of the David Live album was culled from performances on the 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th of July 1974 at the Tower Theatre in Philadelphia. This version contains additional tracks from these concerts that were not on other versions. No studio overdubs or re-recording of voices, instruments or audience have been added with the exception of several backing vocals due to loss of theatre mic contact. Original LP was mixed at Electric Lady Studios, New York.
These discs sound amazing, crisp, no background noise, low audience noise, the performance really jumps out at you. The vinyl is graded NM and looks perfect in appearance and sounds exquisite. I have personally cleaned the discs by hand and ultrasonically before grading/listing.
The sleeve is graded VG+ due to a couple deficiences. Corners are generally sharp but softening a bit and some ringwear is evident on the front and back. Very strong condition for a three decade old gatefold jacket.
This is a true collector piece for David Bowie and live performance fans.
