ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN - 4 PACK RARITIES -- VG+/VG , 3x 1st press + 12" NZ EP
$78.75
4-PACK OF ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN RARITIES!!
The subject listing is for four (4) 12" discs (two LPs, one EP, one 12" maxi-single) by the band Echo And The Bunnymen.
Echo And The Bunnymen are an influential English post-punk rock band formed in Liverpool, 1978. Named after the drum machine (Echo) they originally used after first forming, they are widely considered one of the cornerstones of the post-punk and neo-psychedelic movements, known for their moody arrangements and the charismatic, often outspoken, presence of frontman Ian McCulloch. Their sound is often described as a dark, swirling fusion of post-punk, psychedelia and baroque pop. They broke through into the UK top ten charts with the album Porcupine and Lips Like Sugar, off their 1987 self-titled album, is perhaps their most recognizable hit.
All four of the subject discs play excellent, three grading VG+ and one at VG, only below VG+ because of the vinyl surface marks.
The included releases are as follows:
(1) Porcupine - 1983 release by Korova, catalog # KODE 6. This is the FIRST PRESSING (the easiest way to tell is because the disc labels ONLY say "KODE 6" on them and don't have any additional catalog number and also there's no barcode on the outer sleeve). This is also the UK/European release. Original custom printed inner sleeve is included. Disc plays VG+ or better, sleeve grades VG+.
(2) Echo & The Bunnymen - 1987 release by Sire, catalog #1-25597 and/or 9 25597-1. This is the FIRST PRESSING and was manufactured at SRC Pressing -- the SRC logo is stamped in the runouts and the Side 2 spindle hole has "E A S T" embossed on the label around it. THIS IS A PRETTY INTERESTING CASE AS THE SLEEVE APPEARS TO BE A CUSTOM HOMEMADE ART PROJECT BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER. I actually think it's pretty cool looking... See pictures for the sleeve which has various cutouts that are taped on. Everything is in excellent shape and not peeling or anything. But obviously it's not the original sleeve and inner sleeve that came with the release. Disc play grades VG+ or better, sleeve grades VG+ but AGAIN IT'S NOT THE REAL ORIGINAL SLEEVE.
(3) Shine So Hard - unknown release date; WEA release, catalog ECHO 1; reissue, 12" disc plays at 45 RPM, 4 tracks EP, NEW ZEALAND release. Disc plays VG+, sleeve grades VG.
(4) Lips Like Sugar - original 1987 12" maxi-single release in the US; SRC pressing, catalog # 0-20784 or 9 20784-0, barcode #07599207840. Disc plays VG+ but has some surface marks that grade it VG, sleeve grades VG with intact seams and pretty good color/finish but moderate edge and corner wear, some ring wear and a handful of light creases downgrade it.
