FLEETWOOD MAC - PENGUIN

Dive into a transitional masterwork of the British blues-rock legacy with Fleetwood Mac’s 1973 release, Penguin. Marking a pivotal moment in the band's evolution, this album captures the debut of the Bob Weston and Dave Walker era, blending the soulful, crystalline songwriting of Christine McVie with the gritty, rhythmic drive of Bob Welch. From the breezy, melodic charm of "Remember Me" to the driving blues-rock energy of "The Derelict," Penguin showcases a band successfully navigating a sea of change with instrumental virtuosity and infectious grooves. Named after John McVie’s favorite bird—which would become the band's unofficial mascot for decades—this record is a hidden gem that bridges the gap between their early blues roots and the global pop dominance to come. For the collector seeking the full story of the Mac, this pressing is an essential, soulful piece of the puzzle that sounds remarkably fresh on the turntable.

1973 US first pressing release by Reprise Records, catalog # MS 2138.  Pressed at Terre Haute plant in gatefold sleeve.

Sleeve grades G+.  There is a ~3 inch seam split on the bottom back gatefold cover causing the downgrade to G+.  Otherwise in great condition with original company inner sleeve.  Shows some ring wear and a bit of edgewear.

Vinyl grades VG+.  Plays through perfectly with no issues.  Vinyl shows some light surface marks/scratches/hairlines that don't impact playback.
