MICK JAGGER - PRIMITIVE COOL
Step into late-1980s solo pop-rock history with the initial European vinyl release of Mick Jagger’s sophomore solo effort, Primitive Cool. Distributed under the CBS Records banner, this specific variant features the traditional black center labels paired with the localized "Made in Holland" manufacturing credits. Co-produced by Jagger alongside Keith Diamond and Dave Stewart, the album leans heavily into polished, high-energy 80s production while keeping its rock edge sharp with lead guitar work from Jeff Beck. Anchored by the driving single "Let's Work" and the title track, portions of the album hold local significance as they were recorded on-site at the renowned Wisseloord Studios in Hilversum, Netherlands. Complete with its distinct package concept illustrated by Italian contemporary artist Francesco Clemente, this Dutch-pressed artifact represents a milestone crossover moment in Jagger’s extended solo catalog.
1987 European import/release by CBS, catalog # CBS 460123 1, barcode #5099746012311. First pressing made in Holland.
Sleeve grades VG. The sleeve is more like VG+, especially the front but there is some scuffing on the back lower right corner that causes the downgrade.
Vinyl grades VG. Pretty clean vinyl with two light scratches on each side along with some light surface marks and hairlines visible under magnification. These really don't impact the playback, play testing was almost all VG+ with a couple small crackles, not really evident during the music.
