Queen II 1980s European Fame release VG/VG+
QUEEN - QUEEN II
Revisit the grandiose beginnings of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon with this mid-1980s European vinyl reissue of Queen II. Released under EMI’s specialized mid-budget "Fame" imprint, this specific pressing is identifiable by its distinct 1C-prefixed catalog numbers on the center labels. Originally recorded at Trident Studios and produced alongside Roy Thomas Baker, this sophomore masterwork famously divides the audio landscape into a melodic "White Side" and a dark, multi-tracked progressive "Black Side". This European pressing retains the iconic Mick Rock-designed gatefold presentation inside a sleeve printed by 4P Nicolaus GmbH. Combining Queen's signature multi-layered vocal arrangements with the legendary inner-gatefold proclamation, "...and nobody played synthesizer... again," this reissue serves as a durable mid-80s document of the band's foundational art-rock architecture.
Mid-1980s European import/release by Fame and EMI, catalog # 1C 038 1575531, barcode #5099915755315. Reissue in stereo in vertical gatefold sleeve with embossed EMI on back; made in EEC/Germany.
Sleeve grades VG+. Pretty clean cover overall. A little edgewear, mostly on right side of cover. Corners are shaped but dinged a bit. There are a handful of minor little creases at the spine and a small vertical crease in the lower left front corner. Touch of ring wear on front and back. Original Fame company inner sleeve included; embossed EMI stamp on back cover.
Vinyl grades VG. Mostly plays VG+ but there are two (2) light clicks on Side A and another couple light clicks on Side B, nothing impactful. Side A vinyl is very clean with just a couple minor hairlines, Side B shows a fair amount of light surface marks under magnification, nothing that seemed to have a material impact on play testing. Pristine labels.
