MY BLOODY VALENTINE - GEEK!
2009 unofficial release reissue on 12" black vinyl with black and white labels by Fever, catalog # FEV 005. Four track EP: A1 - No Place To Go, A2 - Moonlight, B1 - Love Machine, B2 - The Sandman Never Sleeps. Top copy in excellent shape!
Originally released in December 1985, Geek! is the second EP from the legendary shoegaze pioneers My Bloody Valentine. At this stage, the band was still a fledgling post-punk outfit based in London. The music on this EP is heavily influenced by The Cramps, Nick Cave's early outfit The Birthday Party, and 1960s garage rock. It is swampy, gothic and aggressive, featuring jagged guitars and a much darker aesthetic than the band's later work. This features the original vocalist Dave Conway and his deep, growling and sometimes manic vocals.
Sleeve grades VG+ in excellent overall condition with great color/finish, shaped but dinged corners and a couple of minor small creases on the lower right back cover. Disc will ship in new audiophile protective sleeve.
Vinyl play grades VG+ or better. Plays through with no issues or deficiencies. Visually it is very clean vinyl with just a handful of light surface marks and hairlines on each side, none of which impact the playback.
This is a superb copy of a very rare pressing.
