Step into the melancholic, swaggering world of UK post-punk nobility with this rare 1990 UK Test Pressing / White Label of Nikki Sudden’s Back To The Coast. Released on the iconic Creation Records label, this compilation captures the Swell Maps co-founder and Jacobites frontman at the absolute peak of his bohemian, Keith Richards-inflected solo output. Featuring crucial collaborations with Rowland S. Howard (The Birthday Party) and Peter Howard, the album weaves through jangling folk-rock, dark psychedelic blues, and ragged indie anthems like "Death Is Hanging Over Me" and "The Last Bandit." Pressed on heavyweight vinyl before full commercial production, this factory test pressing represents an ultra-scarce piece of Alan McGee’s Creation Records history and a prized artifact for die-hard Nikki Sudden and 80s UK indie collectors.

1990 UK import/test pressing by Creation Records, catalog # CRELP 083.  White labels on each side that state "Mayking Records 01-924 1661 Test Pressing" and "MPO" at the bottom; side A label also has "A" stamp, handwritten "CRELP083" and stamped "10 AOUT 1990" on the date line.  Side B is stamped "B1" on the label.

There is no outer sleeve to grade.

The vinyl grades VG.  Mostly sounds VG+, especially while listening casually.  On the A-side there's a light touch of crackle behind the music and two (2) light clicks in the middle of track A5.  On the B side there is faint crackle/static that plays behind the music - again, not really noticeable during casual listening but can be heard particularly in quiet spots when listening closely.  The vinyl surface is very clean with just a couple hairlines/light surface marks when viewed under direct bright light and magnification.
