JOY DIVISION - AMSTERDAM
Immerse yourself in the raw, haunting definitive peak of post-punk history with this legendary vintage 1981 vinyl pressing of Amsterdam by Joy Division. Masterfully capturing the band's monumental, volcanic performance live at the Paradiso Club on January 11, 1980, this historic underground release is widely revered by audiophiles as the finest live recording of Ian Curtis and company ever pressed to wax. Running flawlessly through the band's second set of the evening, the deep analog grooves bring out the full, visceral snap of Stephen Morris' percussion, Peter Hook’s driving basslines, and Curtis' echoing, hypnotic vocal intensity. From the frantic, jagged post-punk energy of "Transmission" and "Disorder" to a beautifully melancholic, raw performance of "Love Will Tear Us Apart," every track crackles with unparalleled live energy. Housed in its stunning, iconic woodcut tulip jacket and carrying the infamous counterfeit "FAC (PRO1) A&B" promotional catalog marks, this beautifully preserved vintage LP is an absolute crown-jewel target for any serious Joy Division archivist or alternative music collector.
1981 US release not on label, catalog # FAC (PRO1) A&B. Live at Paradiso, Amsterdam, 11th January 1980.
