The Sonic Temple tour of 1989 marked the moment The Cult fully ascended to "Arena Rock" royalty. After the stripped-back grit of Electric, Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy teamed with producer Bob Rock to create a massive, polished wall of sound that was tailor-made for stadiums. The tour was a high-octane celebration of this transition, characterized by Duffy’s iconic white Gretsch Falcon feedback and Astbury’s increasingly shamanic, "Jim Morrison-meets-biker" stage persona.

Starting in Europe and moving through a massive North American trek, the tour was famous for its sheer scale. In the U.S., the band spent a significant portion of the summer and fall opening for Metallica on the Damaged Justice tour—a "double-bill from hell" that introduced The Cult's bluesy hard rock to a massive metal audience. Later in the year, they transitioned to headlining their own arena shows, bringing along legendary support acts like Dangerous Toys and Bonham.

T-Shirt is size adult large with short sleeves and crew neck; base color is black.  Generally very good condition with strong seams and no stains.  There is one tiny hole at the neck/shoulder seam on the right shoulder (if one were wearing the shirt) - see picture with blue circle.  The shirt measures 26 inches (66.5 cm) from neck to bottom, 18-20 inches (46-51 cm) across the chest and armpit-to-armpit, the neck hole is 7 inches (18 cm) wide and sleeves are 8 inches (20 cm) long,
